When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that Dream,
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing, then said they among the heathen, the Lord has done great things for them! The Lord hath done great things for us ; where of we are glad.
It was as a dream comes true, it’s December 11th and there is a march going on!
Birmingham’s Jim Crow laws have been dissolved. There are no more restrictions on public water fountains in the south. African Americans don’t have to ride the freight elevator in department stores nor give up there seat on the public bus to white patrons.. It’s December 11th 2004 and there are over 30,000 African Americans, yes African Americans marching in the same spirit of those that journeyed to The Lincoln Memorial in August of 1963. The same spirit that rested and abided in one of the great prophets of this nation. The civil rights movement of that day birthed a King that suddenly was raptured by our sovereign God. His name, Martin Luther King, a true prophetical voice.
That was 1968 and we wept and mourned. The movement no doubt had to go on but the torch, the mantel, the piton had not been passed. There was no son to become King!
It’s December 11th and over 30,000 people come to march to revitalize youth, to affirm traditional family values, to reclaim the state, refocus the nation and visualize in the natural what God had all ready done in eternity. Bernice King the daughter of Martin Luther King lit the torch and passed it to a son to continue the legacy of a slain King and for fill his vision. It’s December 11th, 2005 and Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia receives the torch from Bernice King in steed of her father and we see in the natural what God had all ready ordained before he was in his mother’s womb.
As we marched towards Turner field from the King Center in Atlanta, I was awed by the presence of God. The atmosphere was charged with his heavenly angelic host. God was giving a sign of his divine approval of this historical evevnt.
That torch represented the vision of a king from the King of Kings. It was overwhelming! I felt the power of deliverance for every social ill of society. Infanticide, divorce, sexual perversion, promiscuity, poverty, racism, heresy it was all being passed on to a man and a generation. A generation that will restore and birth the new day. It’s December 11th and I am at the point of tears many times and yet experiencing a child like excitement reminiscent of my early days on Christmas morning. It was as a dream comes true! Probably more for me than most. In 2002 I wrote a prophetic word concerning the Dream, or the vision of Martin Luther King. "The Dawning of a Kings Dream"
In Dr. Kings prophetic speech, "I have a dream" He prophetically spoke of a time when his four little girls would live in this country where they would not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character... You see on November 2nd of this past year political phenomena took place. The media missed it all together, the political analysts were dumbfounded, Hollywood was stunned... The nation went to the polls and the leading factor for why they pulled the lever was not the economy, not the war, not the terrorists, not taxes or jobs. Not for the performance of their president but the character of their president... For the first time they predominately pulled the lever on the bases of the content of the candidates character. MORAL VALUES!
Why was I so excited about November 2nd and awestruck December 11th? Here’s why!
On the eve of the death of this great prophet, God allowed Martin Luther King to give his last prophetic utterance to the nation. I want to focus on the latter part of what he had to say to us on the spirit filled night in Memphis, "Well, I don’t know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t matter with me now cause I have been to the mountain top, and I don’t mind. Like anyone else, I would like to live long life, longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now, I just want to do Gods will. And he has allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I looked over. And I have seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we as a people will get to the Promised Land. And I’m happy tonight. I’m not worried about anything, I’m not fearing any man, and mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
Like Moses, he was getting ready to go to Heaven. His labor and ministry was not to go to heaven but to get his people to a promised land. Heaven was assured due to his relationship with Christ and one day we all will get to that land together (1st Thessalonians 4:16) but the promised land, the land he had a vision about in 1963. A land where his four little children would not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character. Where the son’s of former slaves and the son’s of former slave owners would could sit at the table of brotherhood, where Mississippi would be an oasis of truth the Promised Land! The promised United States of America... Dr. King said he would not get to that land but we as a people would get to that land he prophesied about.
Martin like Moses was assured that after his death there would be a Joshua that would take the people to the land they labored for and gave their lives for.
It’s December 11th 2005 and I am standing in Atlanta after the nation went to the polls in November and choose a king based on the content of his character.
I now see one of Martin Luther Kings four little children take the torch, light it at the grave of her father and pass it to a son who would be like the father of the civil rights movement of old and now complete in the new day.
Yes, Arise Shine thy Light has come and the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you!
In 2002 God let me to see and write about the movement beginning at New Birth in Atlanta with this man of God.
This man represents the Glory that Dr. King saw and prophetically spoke about his last night in Memphis. The Glory that precedes the Lord Jesus Christ return. The Glory that is present in this movement to restore and replenish and establish his church and the nation.
If you would read "The Dawning Of A Kings Dream" You will see why I was so overwhelmed and now on fire!
Bishop Eddie Long spoke and said he represented the new generation and the voices God would raise up and use as agents for change.
As a son of the Bishop I know he is a genuine father and a true king.
Yes, without question, it was as a Dream, come true.
