March/April 2008

March and April proved to be engaging months of ministry and very effective. We are building momentum in the African-American Community and that will determine the success of the pro-life movement.  Seizing the interest in the present frontrunner of the Democratic Party, Barack Obama, we thought it imperative that we submit columns that media small and large would post. Columnist Mari Jon read one of the many articles that I have written and submitted my name to Alan Keys website Renew America as an contributing columnist.  (www.renewamerica.us) I was accepted and have committed my self to at least two articles per month. The Huffing ton Post published “Margaret Sanger Would Have Loved Barack Obama” They saw the Article on Alan’s website.

As a Senior Pastor here in the town of Montclair, I was called upon by the African American Clergy to be one of the presenters at the Good Friday service. No it’s not a Pro-life event but I am the quarry of the local media and people often have their liberal guard up when I speak. Coupled with the fact that my associate Minister David Taylor was running for local office I was approached the occasion with a bit of trepidation. I was concerned that would influence my “choice” of words. Minister Taylor at that present time was being considered to run on a one of the slates here in town. Objections were raised about his close relations with the radical Reverend. In the spirit of Jeremiah Wright, but not with the same sermon, we went forth to do what I was asked, preach the word. Well the event went very well and the people received the message I gave with many affirmations during and after the service. Oh yes, Minister Taylor is running as an independent. The following weekend New Calvary hosted a men’s meeting at our facility in Montclair. Over 50 African American men came together to watch the highlights of the New York Giants 2007 Super Bowl Season and hear me give a presentation on the political, social and spiritual ramifications from supporting a valueless political platform..

The men went to great lengths to extend their gratitude for the hospitality and information they received. We all vowed to meet again in June.

April began with us heading to Pennsylvania to participate in the rally held at the Penn State Campus in College Station. My son Thomas accompanied me and performed from his repartee of pro-life raps and spoke. The student held their rally in front of the Administration Bldg. The morning of the event was stormy and it appeared it would be in the best interest to cancel but just before the event began the clouds parted and the rain ceased and the Sun came out enough to provide good weather and the rally went on as planned.  www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/2008/04/07/students_hold_rally_for_life.aspx

The next week we were off to St. Mary’s College and I had the privilege to address seminary students. It was awesome to have the opportunity to address tomorrow’s leaders and I am encouraged to see youth hold to the doctrine of their faith and honor the charge by their spiritual leaders. This generation will extend their influence beyond the confounds of the pulpit into the public square.

On to Towson State college Maryland. Once again my son Thomas and Evangelist Stewart accompanied me this time for a mini Gap project on the campus of Towsand State College. Brian McKinney invited us to assist him on campus and as usual when it comes to Gap there were plenty of lively conversations. GAP has proven to be the most effective way to engage the students and allow them to see the horror of abortion. All data proves that unless you can visualize the victim their will be no activism for social justice.

Students For Life in America has taken on the noble task of demanding the defunding of Planned Parenthood due to its racist practices. Kristan Hawkins has lead a coalition of pro-life groups to assist her in organizing protest to heighten public awareness of these blatant acts of racism by Planned parenthood. Kristan called for a press conference in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Washington DC.

Fox, ( http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352537,00.html) ABC, CBN, Washington Times, Washington Post, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1jWguXjubo  were among the many main stream media outlets present. At the event and it was the lead story on Fox news that Day! The impact the press conference had been powerful. So effective was this press conference Planned Parenthood started running adds in urban areas stating they are not racist! WOW They are feeling the pressure! The pressure must stay on until they fire the employee’s and the government stops funding Planned Parenthood. From that event I so far I have done the Shelly Wynter WAOK Atlanta and Coach Dave Daubenmire on 88AM Columbus Ohio.

The Center For Bio Ethical Reform and LEARN Northeast have taken on the awesome task of confronting Planned Parenthood on African American College Campuses.

The Genocide Awareness Project is being taken to Historically Black College Campuses with the sole purpose of getting the life message to the students whom are the primary target of the Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. This has never been done and it is way past due. If you are grieved over the disproportionate amount of Afro-American Children that are targeted for dismemberment by the abortion Industry then this is a project well worth supporting. I have never been so excited about a project since the “Say So March of 1999” This project will begin a movement among our Afro-American youth and they will affect the black community as never before. They have been lied to

And they are not going to like it. We will staff the projects with Afro-Americans All ready trained and prepared to present truth in this new territory. It is going to be worth every dollar we spend to make this project a success.  I have worked with CBR over the past 10 years and together we will be able to produce effective and productive

Results where the message of life needs to be most. We need your immediate support! You can give here on line or mail. We plan to make history!!!
