Shamonica & Zahear
"It’s time, I have to go, it’s time to have the baby, I got to go to the hospital!" Those words echoed in my ears at 5:40am Saturday morning. Having gotten in that morning at 1:10am from revival services in New York, it wasn’t exactly music to my ears. Immediately the thought came to my mind, "Lord, wouldn’t it have been better for the child to come in the afternoon?" With a quick last minute rest upon my pillow, my wife and I rose to the occasion. While dressing, I heard my wife ask, "Are you sure?" The response was a resounding, but quite painful, "Yes!" Shamonica gave birth at 5:40pm that afternoon to a healthy baby boy ! I knew we could have waited. Zahear will always be a pleasant memory, the first baby born at LEARN’s Better Way Birth Home For Moms.

Jenese & Malachi
Prior to Zahear’s birth we had the privilege of housing two more girls in crisis pregnancy. Jenese, a 14 year old student received counsel from us when she found herself in a desperate situation. She had to tell her father, who recently came to this country to raise her, she was pregnant. After much prayer and conversation with all parties, Jenese and her father decided life was the only choice. As you would have it, soon after the father was evicted in wind chill of 10 below weather and called to ask if we could take his daughter in until he got back on his feet. How could we say no!

The same day the court awarded me custody of Graciella, a 17 year old young lady from Columbia in her Junior year in high school and also expecting in June. Graciella has decided that abortion is not an option. She has overcome much thus far. Orphaned at an early age, she has gone through different family settings and situations. She now must prepare to be what she never truly had, a mother.

The past seeds sown into Project Peace have brought blessing to me personally and to our vibrant congregation. Joshama and Marthea are former clients of Project Peace. They are now members of our church and volunteer their experience and time to our home for women. Since they have come to the ministry they have been married and have looked back to help women who are going through what they have experienced.

Their help is pivotal and vital in providing proper care for our women. Having gone through the process, their counsel is much treasured and needed.

We have just decided to counter demonstrate the Pro-Choice March on April 25th in Washington, DC. With the ungodly endorsement of the NAACP, it is imperative that we publicly denounce this historic error. Enough is enough! We want the nation to know the NAACP does not speak for all African Americans. We are leaving from Montclair on Sunday morning at 6:30am sharp to be there on time.

LEARN Better Way Birth Home For Moms
Social activism is at it’s best. More doors are being opened and I truly believe a movement among the Black churches is beginning. I am trying to be timelier on posting our engagements in advance. Our www.BlackGenocide.org website will have pictures of Better Way Birth Home For Moms. Your gifts are deeply appreciated and if you choose to specify where you would like your money to be spent, please feel free to do so. The seed you sow will be planted in the right field. We are
committed to the wholistic approach to the problem of abortion in the Afro-American community.

Our Freedom Tour will make it’s next stop in Philadelphia, PA on April 31st, 2004. Please stay posted to the website for further details. These tours are not easy, but necessary!
Our information is getting into places where the message of life has been stymied and censored.

This is a dawning of a new day. LEARN has even been able to make a "Promise Keeper Connection". National Right To Life in Denver had me fly out in December as a forerunner for their event in January with Starr Parker. I had the opportunity to visit Promise Keepers headquarters at the request of Bishop Porter and speak at their morning devotional. We hope to bring assistance to their upcoming tour throughout the nation and bring the message of life to Christian men who need to step up and take their place in the public square.

Hopefully I will have even greater news in our next newsletter. YOUR MONTHLY SUPPORT IS MOST WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED.
Thank you for your support and prayers. Our "SAY SO" Banquet is planned for Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 6:30pm. Please mark your calendars. We will be looking forward to seeing you!
